A Day in the Life of Your Automated Home

6:30 a.m: Alarm goes off, bedroom lights go on, window shades automatically adjust, TV switches to breakfast TV. Welcome to Monday.


7:00 a.m: Kitchen lights automatically go on, TV changes to the stock market and the kettle starts to boil. From a control screen, you send a wakeup call to kids upstairs.


8:00 a.m: System deactivates perimeter alarm, opens all gates, adjusts all shades, and activates the HRV to ventilate your house.


8:10 a.m: You get on-screen reminders, i.e. hairdresser @ 10:30, lunch date then meeting @ 3:00pm. The gardener is also due but you will give him access remotely with your mobile when he calls.


Noon: Blinds automatically close to protect your antique furniture and rugs from the sun. Whilst you're away the house functions!


4:00 p.m: As the kids input their access code to enter the house, you get an SMS that they're home.


7:30p.m: Dinner table is set and lights dim to preselected level, soft music plays.


8:30 p.m: Lights return to after-dinner level and with a single touch on the control panel, your home theatre screen lowers as the projector is turned on. The shades close and lights dim as your movie begins.


9:00 p.m: As the doorbell rings, the movie pauses and the sound is muted. You answer the door intercom on you portable control. It is John, a family member, so you open the door from your recliner.


11:00 p.m: Bedtime. Touch one button on the control screen and all the doors are locked, interior lights are switched off, the security system is armed in perimeter mode. You can sleep safely


Midnight: Irrigation system goes on to water flower beds and grass. You get up for a drink and one of the sensors recognises motion and softly lights your way.
